Occupational Therapy

Your child’s occupation is just that: to be a child, and our occupational therapist is here to help them develop their skills and overcome any barriers.

Your occupational therapist may work with your child in many different ways including:

  • Assessing and supporting their social development
  • Determining their sensory responses to see what calms them and what is anxiety provoking
  • Recommending tools and equipment
  • Helping with planning and organisational skills
  • Providing interventions to improve fine motor abilities

Some situations where an occupational therapist can assist include:

  • Children with neurodevelopmental differences such as Autism Spectrum disorders and ADHD
  • Children with anxiety and sensory processing difficulties
  • Children with coordination and fine motor delays

thereby assisting your child to develop their independence and grow their confidence and self-esteem.
